FIRST IRON BRIDGE.
PRESERVATION AS MONUMENT. (British Official AVireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 13. The first iron bridge ever built, which spans the Severn in Shropshire, is to be preserved as an ancient monument. It was opened in 1779 and was considered so remarkable 'that engineers came from many countries to examine it and to meet its constructor, Mr Abraham Darby.
