(From Our Own Correspondent.) CARNARVON, Aug. 3. The friends of Mr Alec Powell will regro# to learn that lie is in hospital, suffering from appendicitis. Miss Marie Tottman, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mis« Aggctt. Miss Nancy Scott has been spending a few days with Mrs T. L. Scott. Mr M. Frecklington has returned from a holiday spent in the Wairarapa district. Air Logan Scott has been visiting relatives in Wellington. Aim Cameron, of Sandon, ia visiting Airs It. D. AfeKelvie. The . sympathy of the residents of the district is extended to Air S. Armitagc in the loss of his father, whose death took place in Palmerston North on Tuesday. Influenza is very prevalent in tho district*
