When the liner Mariposa was corning up the harbour this morning a delect developed in her steering gear through a cock blowing out in the pipe. It appeared to the watchers that she was headed straight for rocks at North Head, but she turned round. Temporary repairs were effected and she came up to the wharves after a delay of two hours, and berthed.
