FAULTY RESERVOIR.

TAIHAPE RATEPAYERS MEET. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, June 18. A special meeting of ratepayers held at Tailmpe to-night received details of the reports regarding the recent failure of the new municipal reservoir. The findings of the inspecting engineer, Mr R. Worley, or Hamilton, as to the cause of the failure, .together with a report by the Mayor as to the events leading up to the decision to construct tlie reservoir, were read. A motion was carried on the voices exonerating the borough engineer and expressing confidence in the Borough Council. An amendment to the effect that the meeting had no confidence in the present council was lost.
