For many years the Marton A. and P. ball has been one of the social events of the season, and last night’s function was no exception, visitors being present from a wide area. The floor was in good order and the insistent recalls, generously responded to, showed the popularity of the music.' The supper room was artistically decorated by Mrs J. Dick and Miss Mona Brice, with their willing band of helpers ,and they excelled in their colour scheme. The stipper tables were decorated with vases of flowers' by Mrs W. E. Gibbons, which added to the picturesqueness of the scene. The duties of M.C.’s were carried out by Messrs R. J. Moore, P. W. Briant, E. H. Simpson, H. Stewart, H. Coleman and F. McLean. The secretarial duties were in the hands of Mr Arthur Way.
