BAN ON WOOL.

ALARM IN AUSTRALIA. Received June 4, 9.45 a.m. SYDNEY, June 4. Germany’s embargo on the importation of Australian wool, which has been extended to June 30, is causing apprehension in view of the early resumption of wool auctions here and in Brisbane. The importance of the German market to the Australian wool industry is indicated by the fact that between July 1, 1933, and April 30, 1934, Germany purchased 400.476 bales, valued at eight million sterling. One German buyer declared that Germany’s action was dictated by financial considerations. He had no doubt that Germany would continue to buy in Australia, but perhaps not to the same extent as hitherto.
