ACCIDENT PREVENTION.

DRIVE IN WELLINGTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 25. Supported by the Transport department and the City Council, accident prevention week, which is intended to be the initiation of a national safety movement, commenced in Wellington to-day. Throughout the week there will be a display of posters and shopkeepers will exliibit “Don’t J” cards in their windows. Slides will be shown at picture-theatres and pedestrian crossing signs will be erected in the streets.

Traffic inspectors will advise pedestrians on the correct manner to cross streets and information, news and statistics relating to street traffic accidents 'till be published. Other features are an “accident prevention” procession, addresses to school children, and a window displays competition.
