ELLIS EXTENDS LEAD. L. J. Ellis came north for the Wanganui meeting on 'Thursday and Saturday, and gained two successes—on the Winga-tui-trained Moneygran and on Alcidcs. K. Voitro did not enjoy good fortune, it being not till tho afternoon was well advanced on Saturday that the champion had the satisfaction of saluting the judge. As matters now stand, another month is creeping by without Voitre making any impression on tho advantage gained hy the Southlailder, their respective totals tor the current term being: Ellis 75, Voitro 69.
