PARTY GOVERNMENT.

CRITICISM BY FARMERS. COMMISSION’S ORDER OF REFERENCE. Per Press Association. STRATFORD, May 11. Strong criticism of party, politics was voiced bv Mr J. Cocker, president of the Eltliam branch of the Farmers Onion, at a meeting of the union held at Lowgarth. The criticism was drawn by -a remark that Mr C. A. \V 11kinson’s request for the_ inclusion of the mortgage question in the Dairy Commission’s order of reference had come from the wrong source. “When propositions are received from intelligent men who are on tire wrong side,” said Mr Cocker, “no notice is taken. It is obvious that had the suggestion been made by a member of the Government, it would have been heeded.” Other speakers supported Mr Cocker, one saying that, the people were tired of party politics and the wasted time factions spend contesting against each other. Party government would have to be washed out completely.
