ALL SAINTS’ MEN’S CLUB.
A crowded hall was seen at Wednesday’s function of the All Saints’ Club, when the men of Takaro were entertained. The visitors were welcomed by Mr J. T. Bosworth (vicepresident), after which the welcome ode was rendered. All then settled down to play various games of cards, members v. visitors. The outcome was that Takaro won by 2G games to 20, and the president of the club (Rev. Canon Woodward) presented the card shield to Air A. D. Barkwith, secretary of tho Takaro committee. Following the enjoyable card games, Air F. Caple rendered pianoforte solos. Air F. H. Owtram an elocutionary item and then followed community singing, under Air H. E. v Bennett, with Air Caple at tho piano. The lion. secretary announced that the Boys’ Club and Boy Scouts would be tlio guests of the club at its next gathering. The president also gave some interesting information. Air A. D. Barkwith voiced the Takaro men’s thanks for the happy and enjoyable evening. Cheers were interchanged and excellent supper arrangements by the stewards and a chat closed a most successful function.
