Mr It. Semple, M.P., will deliver a lecture on Sunday evening next in the Kosy Theatre on “The Criminal tolly of War. The lecture will be illustrated with lantern slides and all who listened to Mr Semple some'years ago when he delivered a similar” lecture can rest assured that he lias brought bis vivid word picture up-to-date, and he will expose the cruel, nation-wreck-ing life-destroying war habit that menaces modern civilisation. It is 16 years since the last shot was fired in the War that was to end wars. Over 10.000,000 men were killed in action; 25,000,000 were wounded; at an estimated cost of £50,000,000.000. Prior to 1914-18 the world was spending between 400 and 500 million per year on armaments. f I o-da.v llie world is spending over £1,000,000,000 per year.
