PATENT RIGHTS.

THE LONDON CONFERENCE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 1. Nearly 60 nations were represented to-day at tlio preliminary meeting of the London Conference of the International Union for tlio Protection of Industrial Property. A plenary session of the conference will take place in the Locarno room at the Foreign Office to-morrow. The last conference of the kind was held in 1925, and this is the first occasion on which the union lias met in London. The subjects to be discussed are important, but highly technical matters relating to the protection of patent rights, designs, trade marks and other kindred matters coming within the scope of the union. Sir Frederick Leith Ross, chief economic adviser to the Government, heads the British delegation.
