HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
EXECUTIVE MEETING. Mr A. Hendry presided at a meeting of the Feilding Hockey Association executive committee last night, when details in connection with the coming season were finalised. It was decided to agree to the registration of the colours of the Taihape Sub-Association, namely, royal blue and old gold halves. The nomination of clubs entering for the Wednesday competition will close on April 26, the first playing day being May 2. It was agreed to hold the May tournament on May 19. An emergency committee consisting of Messrs A. Hendry, S. Chesterfield and E. A. Garliek was elected. , Selectors for both women’s and men s representative teams were appointed and all clubs will be asked to nominate players for these teams. The executive resolved to notify club secretaries that where the times set down for games are not convenient the matter must be settled hv the clubs concerned, they to inform the Referees’ Association. The secretary was instructed-to supply clubs with the names and addiesses of secretaries of all clubs. Players, especially the ladies who play on a ground which later is to he used by the men, are to be asked to take the field punctually, otherwise the penalties accruing must bo enThe games and referees for Saturday

Funston ; emergencies, J. Hastie, J. Anderson. SCHOOLS’ DENTAL CLINIC. OFFICIAL INSPECTION. Colonel Saunders, D.S.O-, Supervisor of Schools Dental Hygiene, accompanied by Mr R. Elliott, inspector for the Wellington province, paid an official visit to the Feilding schools dental clinic yesterday and conferred with Messrs' G. J. Fitzpatrick and T. K. Hay, of the local committee. The supervisor expressed himself as pleased with the work of the clinic and-of the committee. The chairman of the committee pressed for the admission of the Dunolly and Kakariki schools, the only remaining schools of the district not in the clinic, and the supervisor- undertook that these schools would be admitted certainly tills year, and as early as the general organisation of the service would allow.
P.W.M.U. ADDRESS BY MISS WRIGHT. Oh Wednesday afternoon Miss E. M. Wright, of Feilding, gave a lecture to the Feilding branch of the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union on her experiences as an inspector of a dairy on the outskirts of Shanghai. Miss Wright dealt interestingly with her subject, stating that running cows was something new in China, where the people were now becoming familiar with milk- —a development which the speaker thought should he watched by New Zealand for a -market for our dairy produce might result. Miss Wright received a vote of thanks for her address. The social portion of the programme was contributed by Miss . M. Garrett, piano solos; songs by Misses Younger and McGruer; Miss Armour, musical monologue; and Miss AlcIvor, recitation. The presidential address was given by Mrs Alclvor, of Marton. Mrs Gosnell was in the chair. Members provided afternoon tea.
