ROYAL COMMISSION TO BE SET UP PREMIER’S IMPORTANT STATEMENT The announcement that the Government intended to appoint a Royal Commission to investigate the economic administration and other points of the dairy industry was made by the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) in an important statement issued, last night, explaining the Government’s attitude and intimating' that it had decided to take full responsibility for the future course of action to be followed. Proposals framed by the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board to relieve the plight of the farmers, which had been submitted t-o the Government, were also released. The board stated that if no other alternative was offering it reluctantly agreed to quantitative restrictions.
