The following junior Association football matches will be played on North Street Park to-morrow: Sixth grade.—-Terrace End v. College Street B, 1.30 p.m. (Mr Kempson); Convent School A v. Convent School B, 1.30 p.m. (Air Davidson); College Street A v. Hokowhitu, 1.30 p.m. (Mr Baldwin); Central, a bye. Fifth grade.—Y.M.C.A. v. St. Paul s, 2.30 p.m. (Mr Jenkinson); Rovers v. St. Patrick’s, 2.30 p.m. (Mr Smillie); Te Awe Awe Scouts v. Rechabites, 2.30 p.m. (Mr Baldwin). Fourth grade.—Rovers v. Te Awe Awe 0.8., 3.30 p.m. (Mr Hesketh); St. Paul’s v. Y.ai.C.A., 3.30 p.m. (Mr Crowe). Te Awe Awe 0.8. —Collins, Drmkwater, Newton, Downes, Howe, Nicliolls, Toms, Allan, Petersen, aicShano, Greedy. Rovers. —Fourth grade team : K. Davidson Watson, ai. Fifth grade team: Hunter, Hysted, Berryman, Smith, Duncalf, Jenkinson, Walsliaw, Johnson, Gilchrist (captain), Arlidge, Anderson. PREPARATIONS FOR THE SEASON. LOWER GRADE ENTRIES. With a view to determining the prospects of conducting a senior competition this season, a meeting of tli6 management committee of the Manawatu Football Association was held last evening, when air J. C. Young occupied the chair. After discussing the possibilities of St. Andrew’s placing a team in the field later, it w r as decided to hold the matter oyer for a month, in consequence of which the list of fixtures for the inter-association league, which had been forwarded by the Wanganui Association, was also held over meantime. . The New Zealand Council advised that they were forwarding six footballs for distribution among the schools.—Received. Entries for the lower grade competitions were received as under:—4th grade: Rovers, Te Awe Awe Old Boys. St. Paul’s Y.M.O.A. sth grade: Te Awe Awe Scouts. St. Patricks, St. Paul’s, Y.M.C.A., Rovers. 6th grade: Convent (2), College Street Shhool (2) Hokowhitu, Terrace End. Friendly matches will be engaged in to-morrow, an entry being made on the competitions a week later. ... It was reported that four teams probably would be available at the Boys’ High School this season and the question of a competition being engaged in by secondary school teams on their weekly sports day was considered, it being mentioned that there was a possibility of the Technical School participating. The prospects were considered to be very favourable and the chairman was deputed to interview the rector of the Boys High School and the director of the Technical School on the matter.
