AMERICAN REQUEST FOR LOAN. The Soviet is considering the Chicago World Fair’s request for a loan of the Czarist jewels valued at £50,000,000, for exhibition. The collection includes the crown used by Catherine the Great and all Iter successors, and valued at £10,000,000, and the Czar’s sceptre, bearing the famous 196-carat Orloff diamond. They are now stored in the vault of the State Bank, and are guarded day and niglit by armed soldiers.
