MODEL ENGINEERING.

PALMERSTON NORTH SOCIETY. The monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Model Engineering Society was held recently, Mr Smith pre- " A fetter was received from the A. and P. Association, in which it was stated that the classes for engineering at the Show were to be deleted. Ihe space was still available for displays. It was proposed by Mr Hopwood and seconded by. The proposed alteration read as follows All competitors are to state on their entries liow much of tho model is made fram eastings supplied by recognised model firms, or other persons, and to give an indication as to their voi kshop facilities, and tools. To be stated if castings are off competitors own patterns.” . The secretory is to write to the AA’ellington club' to inform them of the change and to receive their approval. It was decided to write to the 1 acific Model Engineer about the clubs magazine. It was also decided to have a meeting at Mr Barsanti’s workshop on a night when there was not much business before the. meeting, members to enedavour to bring along a specimen of work. Mr Hopwood offered to supply supper. At some future date, each member’s house is to be visited by the club members, to see and to hear about such models as they may lie making. Members could possibly give talks on lathe-work, pat-tern-making, and other subjects it was said. Members were asked to remember to bring along any work thev were doing which they could describe, and which could he discussed. Mr Petersen answered questions asked about a fretwork model of the London Tower Bridge which Ire had made and brought to the meeting. . Mr Petersen was thanked for his interesting talk.
