THE HENSELITE BOWL.
A BAN IN DUNEDIN. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 17. At a meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Centre a letter was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Bowling Association stating that the Henselite bowl and the damage it had been doing to wooden bowls had been much talked about in Dunedin, and the Dunedin Centre executive had decided these bowls should not be allowed to be played in any club or other centre games until such time as they were passed by the council. “This .is a momentous decision, but it was reached after the matter had been well talked over,” the letter continued. It was suggested that full inquiries be made as to whether the Henselite bowl was doing damage to wooden bowls in the Christchurch Centre, as the matter would have to be decided at the annual meeting of the council. The chairman, Dfr A. Dickson, said he did not think the centre could do anything, and personally lie had not heard of any damage done to wooden bowls by Henselite bowls in Christchurch. The letter was received.
