BRIEF FREEDOM.

TWO YEARS’ DETENTION, Per Press Association. HAMILTON, April 17. Friday April 13, was an. unlucky day for John Ross, aged 38, a man with several aliases, who was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention by Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court when he appeared on remand on two charges of theft. It was disclosed that Ross was released from gaol on April 10, three days being the extent of his freedom.
