MORE RECORDS BROKEN.
EMPIRE GAMES NOMINEES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 17. The large number of New Zealand swimming records broken or equalled in Auckland this season, was increased to-night by the two Auckland nominees for the Empire Games, N. Crump and R. Frankhnm. In an unpaced attack on Crump’s 100 yards record, Frankham covered the distance in 55 l-ssec, equalling the record. Soon afterwards Crump showed he must still be regarded as the fastest sprinter in the Dominion by winning the championship of his club in oiisec.
Crump established the listed record when he won the Auckland championship on February, but on March 28 lie was timed 54 4-5 for 100 yards in the course of a 100 metres sprint, for which he put up the best time made by an Australian of New Zealand swimmer, He has also swam 220 yards and 400 metres in the record times of 2min 22sec and smin 11 4-ssec.
