COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL.

CONDITION OF BUILDING. The householders’ meeting at College Street School last evening furnished an opportunity for the expression of opinion concermg the old building which lias served the school for a lengthy period. Colonel J. H. Whyte, the chairman of the retiring committee, outlined the position as previously reported in the “Standard.” He said that Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., had been very active and had arranged for the Minister to visit the school on April 28. He thought that vary favourable consideration would be given by the Minister when he saw the school which was the only one in the Wanganui Education Board’s area to require rebuilding. Mr W. F. Cutler thought that if action were not taken an indignation meeting should be held. The chairman of the meeting (Mr R. L. C. Aitchison) said the matter should be fully explained to the Minister on his visit.
