CLEARANCE OF DEBRIS

DUCKPOND IN SQUARE. With the water drained off, and the muddy bed exposed, the duckpond in the Square presented a very bedraggled appearance this morning. Men were busy with a pole and net capturing the hundreds of little fish which make the pond their habitat. The reason for all this was that the annual cleaning of the pond had commenced. It will occupy a day or two. Meanwhile, its finny population will be accommodated temporarily in the small fountain basin on the other side of the Square. This was cleaned last week.
