CASE AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 6. Failure to complete a contract executed on behalf of a clinic (which was afterward found to be of a bogus nature) in Cathedral Square again brought Edward Andrews Morgan to the Court this morning. He was charged that with intent to defraud at Timaru on July 24 lie obtained money from Janet Rodger Brown by falsely representing that he was qualified to treat persons for slimming and for general health, and was in business at a clinic in Cathedral Square, Christchurch.
Accused pleaded guilt3\ The Chief Detective said that complainant was a hairdresser in Timaru. Accused told her that he was in business in Christchurch, and complainant agreed to take a course in slimming at £7 7s. She paid a deposit of £2 2s, and accused gave her a list siyiwing diet and exercise. He did not complete the course, and complainant saw a report of a similar case and communicated with the police.
