INJURED IN MATCH RACE, WORLD RECORD BY WORTHY QUEEN. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 4. The Metropolitan Trotting Club’s Easter meeting ended to-day. The weather was fine and the track was fast. The attendance was excellent, and the totalisator investments were £36,218, compared with £24,163 10s last year. The total for the meoting was £7b,031 10s, as against £52,018 10s, an increase of £24,013. Tho match race was disappointing in that Walla Walla met with a mishap. After going half a mile the field punched and he put a foot through Jewel Pointer’s sulky wheel, damaging the foot rather badly. From this point Walla Walla dropped back and no longer had a chance in the race. Results: HARVEST HANDICAP, of £2OO ; 3.32 class. Impromptu and Vesuvius still led along the back the last time, but Vesuvius entered the straight first, followed by Auburn Lad, Silver de Oro, Roi l’Or and Glenrossie. With six furlongs to cover the order was Harold Logan, Red Shadow, Jewel Pointer, Walla Walla, and Lindbergh. The last-named moved up down the back on the outside of Walla Walla and Jewel Pointer, following Harold Logan and Red Shadow into the straight, with Walla W r alla and Jewel Pointer several lengths further back. Harold Logan travelled fast over the last quarter and won by three-quarters of a length from Red Shadow; Lindbergh was six lengths away and Walla Walla close up fourth. Jewel Pointer was pulled up. When the field had settled down Sir Guy led from Kewpie’s Triumph and Mountain Dell, and passing the stands this trio was followed by Gold Country, Jewel Pointer, Auburn Lad, Lindbergh, Kingcraft and Glenrossie. Sir Guy and Kewpie’s Triumph piloted the close-running field along the back, and led into the straight from Auburn Lad, Mountain Dell, and Lindbergh. The last-named finished well and beat Glenrossie by a head. Moun tain Dell was a neck away and Kingcraft was fourth. Times: 2.42 3-5, 2.42 4-5, 2.44.
