LINTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, March 12.
A “hard-up” dance, under the auspices of the Linton Women’s Institute was held in the local hall on Friday evening. Despite the inclement weather which prevailed the function proved a great success, socially and financially. The music was supplied by tho local orchestra, extras being played by Mr N. Greer. The novelty dances were won by Air S. Free and Aliss N. Rix, Monte Carlo waltz; Mr O. Terry and Aliss F. Heard, statue dance- Air G. Tucker and Miss L. Irvine, lucky Gay Gordons. The winners of the most- “hard up” costumes were Mr T. Aloycs and Airs T. Dunshea. Airs T. Lynch acted as AI.C. A novelty supper was handed round and dancing continued till a late hour. Miss L. Irvine returned home on Friday after spending a fortnight’s holiday in Auckland,
