OUTBURST IN SPAIN

3.15 P.M. EDITION

SUPERFICIAL QUIET BROKEN. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received March Id, 1.35 p.m. MADRID, March 12. Spain’s superficial quiet was broken by several incidents. Policemen replaced the striking newsboys and sold an official gazette at street corners. It is the only paper published. Entertainments and transport are normal, except for the stoning of a few trams.

Armed strikers looted a country store and youths damaged a Catholic college; Civic Guards frustrated attempts to burn it. Segovia and Malaga are the only towns where the strike is complete.
