PALMERSTON CRICKET CLUB.

■ TENNIS TOURNEY. In accordance with their usual practice to engage in a friendly tennis tournament in the closing stages of the summer season, the members of the Palmerston Cricket Club assembled at tlie residence of Air and Airs A. M. Ongley, at the week-end, for the trial of strength i.ll the other sport. It was plainly evidenced that many' of the participants were quite proficient at either branch, and some interesting games resulted, the details being as follow: —Al. Ongley and G. K. Hollier beat R. Hatch and N. Ingham, 10—8; A. M. Ongley and L. Mullins beat R. Ormond and J. Pegden, 9 —7; M. Ongley and G. K. Hollier beat G. Robertson and W. - 10. Final: M. Ongley and G. K. Hollier beat A. M. Ongley and L. Alullins, 10—8.
