DESPERATE CRIMINAL.
DEATH IN CHICAGO. Received January 25, 8.50 a.m. CHICAGO, Jan. 24. “Three-fingered Jack” White, an ex-convict, killer and racketeer, formerly Chicago’s greatest public enemy, was found slain in a suburban flat. The furniture was wrecked and there was evidence of a fight with two men who were seen running away. White had many ' enemies in the underworld due to his high-handed terrorism as a police killer. He was regarded as “gangland’s” most desperate character, ’’
