THREE FINE PERFORMANCES. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 24. Two New Zealand records and one Canterbury record were broken at the swimming carnival this evening. Miss A. Morris established new Canterbury figures for the 100 yards backstroke of lmin. 27 2-3 sec., which is 2 2-ssec. better than the previous record. G. Low made a special attempt on the New Zealand 100 metres backstroke record, reducing it by six seconds in lmin. 13 2-ssecs. Miss C. Lynch (Otago) lowered the New Zealand record for the 60 yards junior breaststroke by l r ssec. in 41sec.
