IMPROVEMENT LATER. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. A series of depressions has been passing by to the north of the Dominion during the past few days and one is now centred north-east of East Cape. An intense anti-cyclone is centred over the south Tasman Sea and extends across southern New Zealand. Forecast: Moderate to strong south to south-east winds. Weather: Cloudy to overcast with scattered showers, but later improving. Temperatures cool. Seas rough. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—lft. 3ins.
