OBITUARY
MRS CHRISTINA OLSEN. With the passing of Mrs Christina Olsen, wife of Mr 0. E. Olsen, of Whakarongo, at a private hospital in Palmerston North on Thursday, the district lost one who had always taken a great interest in the welfare of others. Until sickness compelled her to retire, Mrs Olsen was secretary of the Women’s Institute and was keenly interested in the Drama Circle. Frequently had she given pleasure to others with her talents. For the past few weeks Mrs /Olsen had been in hospital, where she gradually, became more frail. A larye number of friends and relatives gathered at the residence at Whakarongo, yesterday afternoon, to honour her memory, a largo cortege following the remains to the graveside. Prominent in the crowd were fellow institute members, who wore the institute flower (the red geranium), which they placed in the grave with a wreath composed of the same flowers. To tlio bereaved husband and two little daughters, Aileen and Ngaire, the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will go out in the loss of a loving wife and mother. The service at the house and the graveside was conducted by Rev. G. T. Brown. Mr F. Graham, of Woodville, is a brother of the deceased lady.
