L The committee of the New Brighton Trotting Club have decided to abandon the win totalisator machine and revert to what is virtually the old method of betting at its meeting on December 9. There will be only one pool. In races with fight er less starters two dividends will be declared on the same percentage as. existed prior to the advent of the win and place system. In races where there are nine or more starters- three dividends will be paid in the ratio of /O, 20 and 10 per cent. . It is believed that other prominent trotting clubs will follow suit, the reason being that a growing i number of speculators are dissatisfied with tne present system.
