Mr N. H. Russell, A.P.A., N.Z., has been appointed secretary of the New Zealand Importers’ Federation and the Wellington Importers’ Association. Mr J. 'B. Thorp, of the Palmerston North branch of the Union Bank of Australasia, is relieving at the Hunterville branch while the manager there', Mr 1. Lynch, is on annual leave. Mr W. H. Barna-rd, superintendent of the Palmerston North Fire Brigade, has been attending the annual conference of the New Zealand branch of the Institute of Fire' Engineers of England, held in Wellington. The conference opened on Tuesday and concluded today. Superintendent Barnard will return this evening.
