CYCLING DISPUTE.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 25. Steps were taken at a special meeting of the Cycling Council with a view to settling the dispute over the control of amateur cycling. There was a full representation at the meeting from affiliated cycling centres. Mr H. D. Bennett (Auckland), said he felt that the main source of the trouble was the feeling that cyclists had that cycling was too much under the dominance of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association officials. Te council decided to carry on and to seek the co-operation and friendship of amateur athletic bodies. It was also decided that, in a general way, and for a period to be decided upon, the council should not regard previous offenders against its control as unpardonable. Another resolution passed was that all cycling centres deal direct with the Cycling Council in future.
