TAIKOREA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIKOREA, Nov. 24. Welcome rain has been falling- during this week, mostly at night. The warm days accompanying this make it ideal weather for pastures, crops and gardens. On Wednesday night a slight frost was experienced, affecting only very tender plants such as French beans in unsheltered positions, and cutting these only slightly. On Thursday the Taikorea School Committee held its bi-monthly meeting, there being present Messrs R. Hill (chairman), E. Print (secretary), F. Print, A. Castle and E. Cornwall. The head teacher, Mr J. C. Ward, was also in attendance. Correspondence was dealt with and arrangements made for a repetition of last year’s Christmas tree and breaking-iip ceremony. This event, which was an innovation On this district, proved very popular, and the children will look forward to the ceremony with greater pleasure when a visit irom Father Christmas is assured.
