RECORD BY H.M.S. ACHILLES. Received November 27, 8.30 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 26. H.M.S. Achilles established a world’s speed record for a warship of her class, covering the 1100 nautical miles from Gibraltar to Portland in 39 hours, which is equivalent to 29 knots. The Achilles proved faster than the German liner Bremen, the holder of the Atlantic bine riband.
