FURTHER REMINDER FOR MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 21. The Minister of Justice received a further reminder in the House to-day of the concern over the large number of motor thefts. Mr J. Linklater (Manawatu) asked that immediate steps be taken to have the property of motorists protected by drastically increasing the punishment inflicted by Magistrates and Justices of the Peace for the criminal offence of theft of cars, as the practice is increasing throughout New Zealand. Mr Linklater called attention to the fact that scores of motor cars have been burned or severely damaged by motor thieves, adding his opinion that no motor. vehicle appears to be safe in the streets of any city or town.
