PERSONAL.
The death has occurred in Sydney of Mr George Crowley, a prominent figure in insurance and financial circles, aged 69. The Palmerston North Hospital Board, yesterday afternoon, accepted the resignation of . Dr. W. R. Stowe, radiologist at the institution. Dr. Stowe has been in the service of the board for eighteen years.
The City Council, last evening, passed a resolution of sympathy with Mr P. Black (city parks cui-ator) in his illness, and expressed the hope that Mr Black would soon be restored to his normal state of health. Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister, will make a visit to Canterbury next week-end. He will leave Wellington by the ferry steamer on Friday night, and will return on Tuesday morning. On Sunday he will unveil a tablet at the Woodend Church in memory of the pioneers of the district, and on Monday he will be present with the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, at the jubilee celebrations at Hanmer Springs.
