CAR CONVERSIONS.
MOTORISTS’ STRONG FEELING. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Sept. 28. “If tli6 Government won’t wake up to do the right thing about car conversions motorists will have to take the law into their own hands, even if they are imprisoned for it,” said Mr F. W. Johnston, president of the South Island Motor Union, at the annual meeting of the Otago Motor Club. Personally, he was prepared to do thisk and inflict his own punishment if need arose. He was now convinced that conversion or car stealing should be an indictable offence. Another spea.ker said that the Government, by its light penalties, was breeding a race of young criminals.
