“CHAMPION NORTH.”
TO BE PRESENTED NEXT WEEK. To assist St. Peter’s Church organ fund, a delightful comedy, “Champion North,” by Theodora AVilson AA’ilson, will bo staged at All Saints’ Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Airs S. T. Bristow is the producer, and has secured a strong cast, many of whom are already popular with the Palmerston North public. Those in the play are Airs D. J. Davies, Aliss Ruth Skerman, Aliss Norah Cowlishaw, Air Ralph Holmes, Air E. G. Spraggon, Mr H. Palmer, Air C. R. Alcßae, Air J. Ellison and Air G. Simmons. The story centres round the home life of an old rustic whoso devotion to his dogs is only offset by his love for his somewhat younger second wife, who has promised to help' him to fulfil the traditions of his forbears and reach the century in years. A simple love theme permeates the action of the play, while a delicate spico of subtle humour pervades the rustic atmosphere. An important part is played by “AVestmoreland Queen,” better known as Airs Ivan Wilson’s Scotch terrier "Freudian,” who will charm tho hearts of all dog lovers. The production is proceeding apace and patrons are assured of a delightful evening s entertainment.
