WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —May I draw the attention of your readers to the sale of goods being conducted by members of the Ralmerston North branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, on 28th, 29th and 30tli September in buildings lately occupied by Mr Swallow, bookseller. The housekeeping auxiliary of the division supplies domestic and nursing help to country homes when required and in times of sickness a id distress. Frequently it is necessary to pay in full or to subsidise the wages pa.-d by employers. Last year over £ ICO-'! was used for this purpose, the money be-
ing raised by contributions and voluntary efforts. Owing to stress of the times many calls for l.ousekeepers are being received and funds are m gently required to continue (his work for our country women. Farm pi educe and home cooking will be on sale at the shop and donations of same will be gratefully received.—l .nil. etc.. MARY E. HOWELL, President, Palmerston North Women’s Division, Farmers’ Union. Itaumai, September 25, 1933.
