SOUTHERLY STORM.
WEATHER AT WELLINGTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. A sudden southerly storm at 6 o’clock this morning bringing heavy rain, caused the Island Bay flushing launches to beat a hasty retreat from Cook Strait. Some, unable to reach Island Bay, came into Wellington. One launch, the Santiano, had engine trouble anti a second stood by, but being too small to tow her came into port and asked for help. The Harbour Board’s tug was sent out and has not returned yet.
