MOTORING MISHAP.

DEATH AT BROOKLANDS.

LONDON, Sept. 17

The third tragedy at Brooldands within two days occurred when a car driven by M. Watson in the 500 mile race, travelling at 90 miles an hour, somersaulted in flames.

Watson was flung 20 yards, and received a fractured skull. He was also burned by blazing petrol, and died in hospital. His wife witnessed the accident.

The race was won by E. R. Hall in an M.G. Magnette at an an average speed of 106.53. C. E. Martin, in an M.G. Magna (92.24 m.p.li.) was second, and Cyril Paul, in a Riley (88.87 m.p.h.) was third.
