The weather was fine for training operations this morning and the track in good order. Before breakfast, Impasto and Cam. parero went half a mile together in 49 2-o. After the interval, Pomp and Midinette were associated, in a five furlongs gallop, registering 1.0 1-5 Quietlv went half a mile in oZ o-o. Rust finished two lengths ahead of Hawora, running six furlongs in 1.18, both easing up over the last bit. Spiral, Midian and Copper King jumped off together at the seven furlongs peg. The two first named'quickly drew ahead and ran the first half mile in 49 1-5 and the full distance in 1.29 1-5 Spiral finished threequarters of a length in front and Copper King was well back. Red Manfred did a round at half pace, and then, with a flying start, ran seven furlongs in 1.24 1-5. Ganpat covered five furlongs in 1.4,

and Snowball five in 1.3 3-5. Icier easily beat linoleum and Inalirua over haif a mile :ii 50 1-5. Pin Money beat Leith by two lengths, running half a mile in 49. Knollmere jumped well over a round of the low hurdles. The obstacles were straightened up for Wa.itaunaha and Joie de Val. The latter gave a very poor display and was of no use to Waitaunaha, who jumped splendidly. Useful work was don by D’Artagnarf, Cherry King, King’s Knave, Curie, Cape Fair, Peschiera and a number of others. WJNOOKA FAVOURED. RACE WITH ONRUSH. Received September 16, 11.55 a.m. SEATTLE. Sept. 15. Horsemen favour Winooka for to morrow’s race. Mr Poison stated that he was disappointed with the track conditions, which would probably prevent the Australian horse breaking the world's record, in order to show the eastern critics what the horse can do. He added, however, that he was happy that the animal was in the finest condition since his Australian triumph. Mr Lee, the trainer of Onrush, stated that his horse was at the top of its form.
