SERVING OF WRIT.

ON BOROUGH COUNCIL. Per Press Association. ROTORUA, Sept. 15. A writ claiming £IOO damages for alleged negligence in connection with the legalising of a proposed subdivisional plan was to-day served upon the Mayor of Rotorua, Mr T. Jackson, on behalf of Albert George Cottrell. The claim alleged that although the necessary resolution had been passed by the Borough Council, it wrongfully neglected to furnish the necessary information to the Public Works Department over a period of five months with the result that plaintiff lost the sale of tlie land and suffered damage. The matter was recently discussed at some length by the council in committee and has been set down for hearing at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Hamilton.
