OPTIMISTS’ CLUB.

Optimist A. Mclver presided at the weekly luncheon of the Palmerston North Optimists’ Club held yesterday in Messrs Collinson and Cunningliame’s luncheon room. Tho speaker for the day was Mr A. C. Anderson, who continued his address on “Talkies” from the previous Friday. The Optimist official vote of thanks was tendered to Mr Anderson at the conclusion of his address on the motion of the chairman. Apologies for absence were received from Optimists A. Studd, W. H. Brown, A. Harris and L. Gibson. Optimist K. Collinson will be in the chair next Friday. The resignation of Optimist R. A. Fuller form the executive committee was received with regret. Optimist L. Doy, proposed by Optimist T. Twigge and seconded by Optimist R. Haddon, was elected to fill the vacancy. A vote of thanks was accorded Optimist R. A. Fuller on the motion of the sheriff (Optimist W. J. Young).
