CONFIDENT NOTE
LONDON WOOL SALES. PRICE MAINTENANCE ANTICIPATED. FOLLOWING AUSTRALIAN LEVEL. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received September 13, 10.35 a.m LONDON, Sept. 12. The Yorkshire Observer says the real test of wool values will come at the opening of the London sales on September 19. It is confidently predicted that the prices will follow those in Australia.
Apparently there is no surplus of the finer qualities of raw material on the Bradford market.
Traders feel that lower prices are improbable before the end of 1933, one believing that, if consumption is maintained at the present high level, the values will continue well into 1934.
Tlie' total available will be 187,000 bales, including new arrivals of Australian at 47,600 and New Zealand at 74,700. It is expected that about 175,000 will be catalogued. THE BRISBANE SALES. OPENING RATES MAINTAINED. Received September 13, 11.20 a.m. BRISBANE, Sept. 13. It is generally agreed that the opening sales rates were maintained at yesterday's wool sales. The Japanese, who field off the first day, were , active, the Bradford French and German buyers also bidding vigorously.
