APPEAL TO RATEPAYERS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I think every ratepayer of the city resents the imposition of a special rate of 7-20tlis of a penny in the £, proposed by the Power Board, but fearing that many small ratepayers will not bother to lodge an objection, I am asking them to do so, as it will help those ratepayers who have to find a very considerable sum to meet the new rate.

A little on the following lines would suffice: “To the Managing Secretary, Manawatu - Oroua Electric Power Board, Palmerston North.—l desire to register my opposition to the special rate over the city of Palmerston North of 7-20ths of a penny in the £, on the rateable value of my property.” Yours, etc. All objections have to he sent in before the lltli September, so there is not much time available. —Yours faithfully, G. H. BENNETT, Chairman Citizens’ Committee. Palmerston North, 6th September, 1933.
