REQUEST FOR RAISING. Per Press Association. Wellington, Aug. 4. Concerned at the fact that within two years 24 15-year-old girls und two 14-year-old girls had been married in New Zealand was expressed at a meeting of the Wellington branch of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children. Tho meeting was specially called to discuss the subject and a motion was carried urging that the marriage age for both boys and girls should be raised to 1G years. It was stated that it was desirable that the age limit for marriage and the age of censent should be the same, as was tho case in England. It was also stated that girls under 16 years of ago were not physically or mentally fit to bear and nurture children.
