CHARGE DISMISSED
ALLEGATION OF SHOPLIFTING. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 13. A charge of shoplifting against a young farmer was dismissed by the Court to-day. Shop assistants said the accused man was found with articles inside his coat. He had been a customer of the firm for a long time. The defence contended that a grave mistake, had been made. The goods inside the coat could be easily seen and accused was carrying them to the counter to be wrapped. Supporting evidence was given that accused’s character was unimpeachable. The Magistrate said accused should have the benefit of the doubt.
